Widely Spread TV Reality Warping Property - Overwrought Contexts Teach Wrong Responses to Situations

One widely spread reality change caused by television lays in the overwrought intonation of antagonists, which illicit harsher responses in bystanders than would be warranted in comparable real-life situations.  These intonements cause hatred where mild annoyance might be felt, but the response - worked out in words - the bystanders is geared for the intonement and not the straightforward description of the situation.  This is easily seen when a character, for instance, has a prideful attitude of their position over someone else: in real life, the nasty glace feels different than what's made of it in the extreme arrogance outlined in every move and utterance on the screen.

As Christians, we must defend against warped reality by carefully thinking about our response in a similar (but real) situation, and understand that our reactions are made in the small spaces, in what we instantly allow ourselves to believe about what we see and hear, even when we know that we are watching a fiction (that's just how our nervous systems are wired).  Our defense in this as in everything concerning our own human spirit (or in spiritual matters, if you want to think of it that way) is to believe truth and disbelieve falsehood, wherever and how big or small it seems on the surface.  "Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ", and you will do useful work in helping your own soul.
