A Reason that Trouble Loves Company

One reason we feel such a large release of pressure upon learning that many others suffer as we do is the lessening of our desire to immediately achieve our now-lower expectation of normalcy.  When we feel we are suddenly closer to normal, it feels like we've made recent progress toward a long-standing goal.
