Against Equality

Righteousness is not, contrary to Carpocrates of Alexandria, "a universal fairness and equality"!  That Gnostic philosophy is around again today, so be aware of it dear siblings in our same Master and Savior Jesus Christ.  Sharing your wife is evil.  Thomas Jefferson was wrong about all men being created equal, but he rejected the atonement and wasn't saved, so what type of wisdom can we expect from him?  Let Christ's Church reject the concept, unless it is found in the Bible, of this and any other thing that sounds sweet but which contains the corruption of death inside it.

We are not equal - some are going to live forever and others will go to Hell and end up in the Lake of Fire - how is that the same thing?  We should not have equal experiences, because then how could we be such a beautiful rainbow, fitted together?   We don't have equal gifts, because the Spirit gives to each Christian as He chooses.  We don't have equal opportunities, because God decides when, where and to whom we are born onto this Earth.  We are not, in fact, equal, and we shouldn't perceive equality with all others as any right goal - we Christians are made like our Master Jesus Christ, and He didn't think He needed to grasp at being equal with God; we are not God, but He loves us, and we Christians are all equal in that; it is enough.

Doing the same things to everyone is a great misapprehension of kindness that causes fairness to be seen as kindness when it is not.  Not everyone is at the same place, and a million bucks to one person might be very useful but disaster might fall on another who is given it.  Equality only seems good to those who haven't thought about its implications.
