Mature in Knowledge of the Whole Scriptures Together

Why does Paul say that eating things blessed in the marketplace, which have been sacrificed to idols, is a matter of conscience - that is, that we can eat if we have a strong conscience, but we should be careful not to eat of it with or in front of anyone who does not have a strong conscience, as though it is evil to merely eat the meat when the idol is completely disregarded in the heart of that Christian eater?  Does Jesus contradict Paul when He brings up in Revelation the despicable nature of eating things sacrificed to idols?  No.  God's Word is consistent.  Jesus was talking about people who want to take part in worshiping the idol by eating the sacrifice.  Paul was talking about Christians who completely disregard that aspect of it.  If you think you are worshiping an idol by eating the meat of something that has been sacrificed by someone else to an idol, then you may not do that thing, but if you do not think you are worshiping it, then eat, unless there's even a hint of weakness in your conscience or anyone else's who sees you do it and might think you are worshiping the idol.

This kind of thinking can extend to other matters as well, so that the rule and the surface do not control the Christian, but we who have grown up to eat the solid meat of the Word of God can discern the will of God through the mind of Christ, which the Holy Spirit has led us into knowledge of.  It's not the surface rule or a few words here or there that carries the deeper meaning, but all the words and all the thoughts together.
