Against the Acceptance and Promotion of Evil in The Church

[In response to saying that churches shouldn’t use Hillsong and Bethel music]

<A> While we’re busy not giving allowance to each other’s fault, Islam is advancing and they’re building mosques.

If we’re not at peace with one another, nor united as a Body of Christ, no one will see the Lord. If they’re preaching the Gospel in pretense or in truth, we must still rejoice, as long as the Gospel is being preached.

<ME> On the one hand, you're absolutely right. We have to get together. I say that starting with extreme expertise in the exact gospel will make us know each other. That doing Romans 10:9a & 10:10b for salvation, due to believing 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, results in the righteousness of Romans 10:9b & 10:10a. That's the gospel and the way we apply it. It goes along with "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

On the other hand, there might be some straight up paganism happening with some of these people, and the point about there being false Christs (or pseudo-Christs or anti-Christs) is something to take into account. What I mean is, do they actually preach this gospel? Do they speak of sin, separation and need for the Savior's blood atonement, or do they call *us* "Divinity" while downplaying the gospel. The Scripture you refer to about "whether in pretense or in truth" surely had some particular application to the people who did go out from them preaching the gospel. That doesn't mean it's universally applicable to everyone who uses the name "Jesus". And if they are actually referring to Jesus, then their egregious and unrepentant sin makes them shunned by the Scriptural standard, so that anyone who even says "God-speed" them in their work takes part in their evil works. So, you see why I said that being an expert in the actual gospel is the first step: after we separate from the World, we know how to treat the World, walking circumspectly as wisely gentle, and we know how to treat the Church - with the one part in fellowship and with the other part as accursed, though still not like the World, so Satan might take their bodies and cause them to run back to fellowship by repentance of their continual sin.
