Is My Desire to Tell the Gospel from God or Just Me
If you want to do anything you think so long as it lines up with the Bible, then do it. If you have an urge to tell people that Jesus died for our sins, and God raised Him from the dead, according to God's plan, and that those who believe it and call on His name for salvation by verbally confessing Master Jesus - then what's stopping you from telling them that you have a firm reason to hope for eternal life instead of the eternal death that you would have gotten without Him and His work?
Something's stopping you. Is it fear, shame or simple shyness at speaking, or something else? You might have to overcome the pressure of being programmed by society to think that sharing the gospel is imposing your beliefs on others, which has been made out by the World to seem like extremely intolerable action. It's loving to tell them what they need to know, and it's trusting God to let it be after you know that they know, because it's His work to do in their hearts. You can't change them, but you can tell them so they know.
Once you get a firm resolve in yourself to want to tell them for the right reasons (because you love Him due to knowing the deep truth of how He has helped you instead of due to duty), then a little practice will probably change any shyness about it. Learning individual answers for different criticisms will give you confidence, too.
Remember that people in our culture want to remain friends and don't care much about ultimate truth, so don't let them trick you bright smiles and diversions. I've found that even people in churches don't want to talk much about the sweet relief of freedom from sin, because they still have many sins that they aren't even trying to get over (a lot of times with Christians, we make up lies in order to make our sins seem acceptable).
WHY do you want to tell people the gospel? Is it so they can have the knowledge they need to call out to Jesus for salvation based on His death? Is it because you know how they might have life and you feel responsible to tell those you see dying? Then tell them, but remember that it's God's responsibility to save every person He has already decided to save (and He is good in doing it, even if He didn't pick your parents or someone else you love...).
Love God first and foremost and yourself along with others secondly. Eat spiritual food by listening to reliable preachers and then checking them for truth in the Bible (Acts 17:11). Read whole books of the Bible instead of only pieces and parts (though they have their uses when you know their contexts). Here's a good preacher: https://dentonbible.org/media/media-library/ Eat what he has and grow, and always be ready to tell anyone who asks why you have such hope (1 Peter 3:15). If you live your life with hope - not necessarily with artificial grins but real, deep hope, especially during tragedy - then they will see it and wonder.
