A Top-Tier and Fundamental Split in the Church
There is a tragic split in the Church that's based on the repentance that comes with the confession of Master Jesus. One says that the repentance is the confession and the other part of the Church says that turning from active indulgence in the flesh through the sojourn on Earth is that repentance! These two conceptions cannot both be true.
On the one hand, Christ has freely forgiven us, but on the wrong hand, we do work for our own salvation with semantic covers to assuage our guilt of wrongly confusing it with working out our own salvation! After all, when we Christians sin, it is not mere slippage due to the power of our flesh - we have been given power of it! - but it is purposeful indulgence of our flesh, which cannot be the "repentance" we need to survive. Our acknowledgement - with sincere belief - that Christ's death was purposefully for the atonement of our sins and that He was buried, Resurrected and seen afterward, all according to the prophecies beforehand and the descriptions of those events afterward, and - due to those sincere beliefs - calling on His name by verbally confessing Master Jesus, this is the repentance of turning away one time forever from the World and being baptized, which baptism is performed by the immersion in The Holy Spirit, Whom God has graciously given to us at the request of our Master Jesus The Christ.
What's your definition of "repentance"? We become more righteous due to believing the Resurrection (Romans 10:9b-10a), but repentance comes before righteousness, which we work out through our lifetimes here on the Earth.
