Set Your Sights Higher in Prayer

Our modern age proves that clearing all sorts of fundamental earthly troubles of human existence on the fallen Earth are not the stuff of God's answer to our prayers, though He might give some of those answers to individuals (or maybe not even then). The woman at the well wanted to not have to go there to pull water all the time - it was a burden to her that Christ's promise of everlasting water prompted her to ask about. But consider: we have indoor plumbing and city-wide water treatment and all sorts of other things that have reconciled what probably has been very many such complaints and prayers through the centuries. The answer has been natural. What's the upshot? God's answers are even better than these things! Ask Him what you will, but don't aim too low, like asking Him to get rid of our need to quench thirst! Think about that..
