How to Remove Sin After Salvation

Because the error is so pervasive, remember that we cannot put our sin to death. Christ does something like that at the moment of our salvation, but He puts us to death. Anyways, our Master Jesus is in the fundamental control of our sin concerning salvation, and we only need to wrestle to conquer the sin in our bodies even though it will technically still remain. We're not talking about sin at the fundamental level where it concerns salvation, but we still must wrestle with it to do what we've been taught about our minds. And because we who are saved all know that Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day in accordance with all the prophecies and descriptions in the Bible, we know that we are also raised, and so we have the room to admit the sin, that we still willingly allow our dead bodies to dominate our minds, and we can perceive why those sins dominate us, especially as we search God's Word in prayer and in reading, because our Master is God's Word and the Holy Scriptures are God's Word. Things are not as simple as surfaces appear or words seem, at first blush, to describe, though God hides gems to be found and isn't like the crafty World that hides in words for evil purposes. We wrestle with our sin in the process of sanctification. We capture every thought and make it obey God's Word. We find out why we sin - our bodies don't like that and will try to trick us with false feelings and thoughts and pale or desperate certainties based in lies. We believed some lie, maybe in our youths, suffered the consequences of hardening our hearts, and then we built things to protect it. Your heart can be softened again, but only through Christ, who both saves with His work and teaches us to work well with God and with ourselves and others.

Since Salvation is not through Sanctification, we remember the Resurrection and have the room we need to probe our sins honestly and, perhaps quite slowly, we apply God's instruction concerning the festering wounds that we've been physically carrying inside our bodies.

The Bible has many excellent rules to live by that are meant to do the job that worldly counselors have presumed onto themselves. And, sadly, Christians do it, too, from their own sin or ignorance of the Bible. Which it is for you, Christ knows, so ask Him!
